Middlesex Business School Introduces the Annual Case Study Competition

Deadline for registration extended due to popular demand

Undergraduate students across the UAE will battle against one another, challenging academic and transferrable skills. This is an opportunity for you to register a strong team to ensure you are in for a chance to win a number of prizes.

 Broad Outline of the Competition

  • There will be three rounds in the competition
  • The judging panel will include experts from industry, sponsors and academia
  • Multiple groups from each university may apply.
  • 3 to 4 students required per team.
  • There will be a briefing session on 18th December 2014 where you will be provided with the case study and guidelines for the competition. The schedule will be sent out to the registered teams.

 First round

  • Submission of PowerPoint presentation and annotations to the student office at the Middlesex University Dubai campus
  • Deadline for submission  1st February 2015
  • Internal moderation by  MDX faculty
  • 9 – 12 groups qualify for 2nd round

 Second round

  • Presentations cannot be changed
  •  3 teams of judges with 3 members in each team
  • 1 judge from MDX, 1 from industry and 1 from any participating university.
  • Each team of judges will judge 3-4 presentations
  • Finalists will be declared (one group from each team)
  • Finalists get 30-45 minutes mentoring session with respective judging panel after presentations
  • The audience will be the panel of judges.

Third round

  • Large panel of judges  (experts from industry, sponsors and academia)
  • Large audience , will include students, faculty and panel of judges
  • Prize money (AED 10,000 for winners and AED 5,000 each for runners-up), trophies, certificates and possible internship opportunity.
  • There will be media coverage.

 Final presentation date: Monday, 23rd February 2015 , from 4pm to 8pm.
